applying to sixth form, not predicted the required grade.

Ok so i did average on my SATS, 4 for english, maths and science and now i want to take further maths for a-level, but my target for maths is a C because it is apparently based on your SATS. However im on track on getting A* for maths now and my teacher thinks very highly of me and she always says * i expect you to get A*, nothing less. Will my target grade hold me back from applying for further maths which needs an A* to do for a-level or can the target grade be changed.

i'm not even sure if this works but if your teacher expects you to get an A* then can you ask her to change your target grade? also when you get to sixth form and you end up getting an A* in maths you can change at that time as well to further maths if you don;t manage to change it now
