Taking up AS chemistry during A2 year

During my AS year I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Psychology. I'm dropping psychology and taking the rest to A2. My goal is to study engineering at either Cambridge or Imperial so I need to make my application as strong as possible. I have thought about doing an AS in chemistry next year and need some opinions on it. I got an A* at GCSE and have forgotten most of it but I still have my old GCSE revision guides that I can use to refresh my memory before I go back.

Any views for or against would be very helpful!
can i ask why you want to pick up chemistry exactly.
is it chemical engineering or because they might class fmaths/maths as one a level?

If you aren't doing chemical engineering then there isn't much point unless you are actually interested in learning about chemistry

I'm not doing chemical engineering no, I'd like to specialise in Mechanical. I just thought it might be a good way of enhancing my application and it might be quite interesting. You don't think it's worth it though no?

Chemistry is really hard IMO, the effort needed to just get a C grade is disgusting.
I think it would be better to just focus on your A2 exams instead.
