Medicine requirements!//Choosing the best Uni

I want to take Chemistry, Biology, Maths and either English Literature or Religious Studies at A-Level. My teacher is telling me if I don't take all 3 Sciences and Maths then I won't get into medicine. I don't think this is true so could someone please reassure me? Also could someone help me decide HOW to pick the right university for medicine? I have checked entry requirements and checked at their course structure etc. but what else?

Your teacher isn't correct - you certainly don't need three sciences and maths to get into Medicine. Your choices are fine.

It sounds like you're doing the right thing. The key thing is to apply to Medical Schools that favour your strengths. That'll give you a greater chance of getting in. This page is quite useful: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/Applying_to_Medical_School_using_your_Strengths

Is RS or English Lit better to take?
