Afternoon all, thought i'd take a bit of a brake from "exam revision". Sorry to hear that BlackHawk, but after all, what's for you wont go past you (at least i hope!).

I know this is probablythe type of question we're all pretty fed up hearing on these forums, but has anyone recently been succesful through OASC, having applied for WSOp, and been offered a start date for RTS? I know any response i get wont exact my own time scale through the process, but just to get an idea of some time periods might help me relax about the next couple of months, and possibly aid in my contingency plan, should i have to stay on at university next year.

    Thanks folks.
I attended OASC in August 2005, had a letter within 2 weeks saying that i had been provisionally accepted to start training at RTS on the 4th Jan 2006, pending the successful completion of a P2 medical, which i attended in October 2005.

Hope that helps, it's mainly the officer candidates that are made to wait, from my own experience and from speaking to most of my WSOp mates, we were all processed rather quickly.

Well, just got back from OASC. Was good fun actually. It was a bit tiring now that the fitness test is on the last day after you've spent all morning jumping around in the hanger and the night before doing the swimming test. Now is the time to apply as they are increasing the intake this year and everyone gets through to the second part unless you want to go home or if you fail the aptitudes. They are also even sending people to OASC who are not reccomended from their afcos.

Hi mate - if you want my advice i'd just say 'go for it' !

I'm a trainee rotary crewman and life so far has been the business. If you want to find the best takes on it all, speak to the Chinook loadies on your Sqn - i'm sure they will be able to recommend it to you (or not) far better than myself or anyone else on this site can.

Good luck with whatever you decide on mate.

Re: OASC lists (worth a look)
Well I was all prepared for OASC for the second time around, my date as May1st. I unfortunately received a letter stating that I have been declared Permanently Medically Unfit. It was about something that wasn't diagnosed, so I am waiting to see a specialist to get a definite diagnosis. If I do have it (Raynauds) then it will unfortunately bar me from all military service. The annoying thing is that it wasn't even diagnosed, but because it said 'a possibility' I have been given the PMU.

Anyway good luck to everyone going through OASC, and Il keep you updated on it!

It's not really changed that much except that after the aptitude review, the ones who failed are able to change their branch. And everyone who wants to goes on to the second half even if you didn't have a great interview. The fitness test has also been moved to the very last thing you do on day 4. Also, for all you lot going in July, we were told that the fitness standards are going to be raised around then!

Re: OASC lists (worth a look)
Evening all. Hope all us OASC-ers are studying hard, i know i am.

Just a "wee" (i know Mark loves it when i say "wee") question to all those who have just previously returned from the oh-so-mighty selection centre that is RAF Cranwell. What time does the initial briefing start on day one?

As i am travelling by train i may need to allow for delays (as are occurring at the moment) and i would much prefer it that i didn't miss the initial briefing as i did on the 6th Form Scholarship (due to a late train:mad: )

    Replies much appreciated.
