Not got a place in portsmouth halls

Hey guys,

I've recently found out that I don't have a place in the halls of residence at portsmouth, just wondering if any other first years are in the same boat? Deciding what to do next and possible get a student house together or something?

Hi Everyone, :smile:

Student Housing offers a lot of support and assistance with the whole househunting process and is also there to offer support throughout the year.

The best way to start would be to log in to your e-intro and work your way through the different modules.

There will also be a link to a Facebook group which is for first year students only where you can meet a lot of other students who are also looking to househunt within the private sector.

You will also be able to book to come to one of our househunting events where you can meet other first year students who are looking for accommodation. We will offer you assistance and advice and also provide transportation on those days to help you view the properties.

In terms of looking for student accommodation online www.portsmouthstudentpad.co.uk has a list and details of various student properties of registered landlords. All properties registered on this website should comply with our registration criteria.

Please be assured that you will receive support throughout the process and should you have any further queries please contact us.

If you are interested in finding other first years to live with in the private sector then you could register to come down to one of our house hunting events taking place throughout the summer. In the letter you received there will be details regarding how to register for these upcoming events. If this is of any interest then please register online!

Also you could request to join our facebook page: University of Portsmouth Student Housing.
Another alternative would be to search for properties that suit your preferences on www.portsmouthstudentpad.co.uk On this site you will also be able to access the message board in order to interact with other prospective students to house share with. However you will need to request for a password to access this site.

Sorry to hear that you have not been offered halls. Due to th high volume of applications, we cannot guarantee that all first year students will get into halls.

Why not come along to one of our house hunting events over the summer, as it would be great way to engage with other prospective student. You will need to register onto one of these events via E-Intro using the log in details we sent you in a letter.

Alternatively you can request to join our Facebook page: University of Portsmouth Student Housing, where you can engage with other prospective students you are also looking for accodomation and have properties lined up.

Also please take a look at www.portsmouthstudentpad.co.uk - on this site there are a variety of properties advertised by University of Portsmouth registered landlords. There is a message board on here also, where you can engage with other first year students who are looking for properties, but you will need to request for a password for this message board.

Why not register on to one of our house hunting events via E-intro or search on Portsmouthstudentpad.co.uk - this site also allows you to interact with other prospective students on the message board, but you will need to email us at [email protected] quoting your student id to request a password.

Your can also request to join our facebook page which is for first year students looking for accommodation in the private sector: Uop Fresher House Hunters 2015.

Got the letter to say i havent got a place in halls today, but i have the option to share for 3 weeks with someone else and can wait until something comes up. I really wanted to stay in halls though

Hi,

We will do our best to re-allocate you into a permanent room. It may turn out that you will be offered a premanent hall room before those three weeks are up, as we do recieve cancellations and

withdrawals but it will depend on whether the rooms that become available suit your requirements.

If it turns out the rooms offered to you are not suitable, then we will provide you with full support when looking for private sector housing.
