What is the reputation of Derby?

I am looking to choose Derby as one of my five options for criminology for entry in sept 2016.
Can people give me the rep of Derby as well as night life and teaching quality. Thanks!

hey man. I'm going into my second year of a Geology degree at Derby, so i can't say much for its criminology department but i like the uni in generally and am pretty happy here. As for the night life the SU do a few events across the year that usually start in the SU bar and end in walkabout in town. The standard student night is monday and i think the sponsored club is lolalo's but i dont really like it there. Not my kind of music. Wednesdays at walkabout tend to be better, theres other clubs of course but they're usually only open on the weekend, like mosh, which is more for your rock and pop punk music.
