If you live in C-Block it'll be ace. C-Block flats are the only ones with sitting rooms (at least when I was there in first year the year before last) and the management try to put first years all in the same flats.

Saying that, I lived in the grotty flats with no sitting room, and all of my flat mates were foreign exchange students and would lock themselves up in their room all day and I still had a social life. I just made friends with other people in the building. There's a Facebook group you can join where people post about parties and hanging out and stuff.

And on top of that, you will meet people on your course who will invite you to things.

Arghh me too, I'm moving into Manchester student village this September. It would be a nightmare if I had unsociable flatmates who didn't go out at all during freshers
