What was the best book you read at school?

Apparently 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' has topped a list of books that children should read before leaving school.

What books did you enjoy most/ think should be taught at schools - either primary or secondary?

My favourites were 'Holes' by Louis Sacher at primary school and 'The Catcher in the Rye' in secondary school.

You can read the list, here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-33644201

I was addicted to Point Horror books, they were great.
In primary school it was probably Fantastic Mr Fox. In high school it was Lord of the Flies.

I remember one about a girl having an eye transplant, then having visions about the murder of the donor. What a plot!

That sounds interesting, they did have good storylines. Wow, this has brought back memories, it's been 15 years since I last read them.
