Applied Sciences HNC recommended reading/textbooks

Will be starting my HNC Applied sciences in Sep. I thought I would utilise some of my free time right now and make a start on making notes and the like, and so with that in mind: wonder if anyone knows what textbooks to use?

Im starting my hnc applied sciences in September too and my lecturer suggested
Instant Notes: Biochemistry
Practical Skills in Bio-molecular Sciences
You can also look at MITs online notes if you dont want to spend money!
