From your post I think you are just afraid of rejection. It all comes down from being insecure so I wouldn't pay therapist to solve this issue. You need to work on yourself first what e.g. self confidence, overcoming fear of rejection, being happy in your own skin, not being scared to look a fool in public etc

Then you have to get used to talking to girls without thinking about getting their number or dates. Just talk to girls, you meet on the street about anything. See what works and what doesn't, learn to get out of your comfort zone it gets easier the more you do it. At first you will be petrified but you will become better the more you do it. Same goes with sex..
