Does the universitys internet hook up or whatever let you play Steam and CS, DoD and the rest?

If you're on the residence network, virtually all P2P stuff is futile. Not tried connecting to networks like with CS etc, but be warned that it's not the best setup for gaming. I'd wait until you get a house, to be totally honest.

CS and WoW works perfectly at my uni residence; however, for the last month there have been periods where i have not been able to play these games due to the network. For instance, the internet was down on sunday and throughout the week I've had limited access. I can't access my uni emails or nathan bodington. It's annoying, but yeah, I've not had a problem with playing games on my residence network.
Pretty sure I had CS working last year, not just LANs but internet-wide connections.
