Muscle Milk Light Review - Cytosport's Light Version Protein Powder

Anyone who's even glanced at a bodybuilding or fitness magazine over the last few years could not fail to see the huge success and popularity of Cytosport's Muscle Milk

.Famed for it's great taste and very high caloric content per serving, this has been a favourite among bodybuilders and gym goers looking to pack on pounds of muscle and bulk up fast

.However, the very reason for its success (the high calorie content), has also been the reason why some folks have avoided it. Many women looking for a suitable protein powder without the extremely high calories wanted a protein that tastes great like Muscle Milk but won't compromise their body fat levels, while enabling them to gain muscle and get a great looking body.

Well, Cytosport have answered their requests, so enter....Muscle Milk Light. Here, I'm going to do a quick review of Muscle Milk Light to see if it is worth your hard-earned cash and will help you to achieve your fitness goals...so let's get started

Lower Calories Per Serving
Obviously, this is the first thing to look at. Since the original Muscle Milk contained over 300 calories per serving, getting this number down without sacrificing on quality was the difficult task faced by Cytosport. The Muscle Milk Light version contains just 195 calories per 50g serving which is a significant 30% reduction on the original version. This lighter version also has a third less fat than the original version...which is a double thumbs up.

Meal Replacement Benefits
While better used as a muscle builder, Muscle Milk Light can also be used as meal replacement shake if you're in a pinch for time. Each 50 g serving contains 6 grams of fat, 11 grams of carbs, and 25 grams of protein, which is a well balanced serving and thus can be used if you're short on time and need to squeeze in that extra meal.

High Quality Fats
A number of protein powders on the market don't make use of high quality fats to help your muscles' natural repair and growth process. This means that your hard work down the gym is not being backed up by your supplement.Muscle Milk Light however makes use of Medium Chain Triglycerides, which are absorbed by your body much faster than typical dietary fats...meaning that you can even use Muscle Milk Light before a workout session without the fear of feeling bloated and weighed down like you would after taking some other protein shakes on the market.

Multiple Great Flavours
One of the biggest selling points of the whole Muscle Milk range has been the great tasting range of flavours. There's nothing worse than trying to swallow some awful tasting protein shake...it makes sticking to your exercise and nutrition plan that much more difficult. The Light version of Muscle Milk comes in a wide range of flavours including banana crème, chocolate milk, chocolate mint, cookies 'n cream, dark chocolate, peanut butter chocolate, strawberry milkshake, and vanilla cream, will ensure that there is something for everyone's palate.

Negatives
Any Muscle Milk Light review wouldn't be complete without a look at the negatives (hey, I'm not all happiness and sunshine you know! )Probably the biggest gripe for me was the protein content to serving size ratio - 25g per 50g serving is a little less than I would typically like, but then again this can be used as a meal replacement shake, whereas other shakes that have a higher protein ratio are simply that - protein shakes, and can't really be used as meal replacements.
