Loans or bursaries that aren't low income households

My parents income is too high for me to be eligible for the full student maintenance loan and I am only allowed up to around £5,700 living away from home in London. However, the cost of dorms are around £6900 a year. Am I eligible for other student loans or grants concerning high grades or being the first to attend University in my family? I am attending Rose Bruford College in September and I have spoken to their financial service and they have told me they don't support me because of my families income although, my family cannot afford to support me.

Hi,

Unfortunately, it sounds as if you've already applied for the full SFE funding. If the College are unable to support you further then you may want to look at independent or private bursaries/scholarships. Alternatively some banks offer career development loans.
