startin herts sept 07

hiya i js got an unconditional offer for business open joint at herts startin in sept 07. im going to travel into uni as im only bout 30 mins away by car but im really worried i wont get involved in uni life, do alot of people travel into to herts, does anyone out there travel in or know people who do and can they get js as involved in uni social stuff. i love going out an partying and socialising but i got to support myself through uni and can only get the smallest loan so going to live at home. is anyone out there going to do business at herts in 07 ?

heya im traveling at the moment, i live about 40-45 mins away (without traffic) but trust me m25 gets crazy sometimes...I thought id be like you and get involved and go out all the time but because of the drive I can never be bothered so i havent been to any nights at uni so far, just go out with my friends back at home. moving to a house near uni next year thou so should be all good. Id say, do it for the first year and if you dont like it, either move somewhere closer with friends you make or continue travelling..

oh wiked thakns for both the replies, i wont have to go down the m25 so should be ok, that wat i was thnking i would do travel in the first year and then hopefully move into a house with some mates from uni in second/ third year. I am just worried that i wont be involved so wont be able toget into a house in 2nd year. have you found it easy to get invlved apart from the nights out.

wat course is you firm choice for i only applied to herts i havent decided my firm or insurance. will probably put bus eco/bus info systems first then business open second , but keep changin my mind im going to the open day on the 3rd march fro the business school so should be able to make a choice after that.

i found it not too hard looking for housemates because everyone is really in the same position, and even though you dont live on campus you will make friends :biggrin:

Heya im doing Business joint with computer science in my first year and also living about a half an hour drive from the university....the course is alright and whether you can still join in all the entertainment stuff is dependant on how friendly the mates you make are i mean ive made some friends ive had a laugh with at uni but none of them offer to let me kip on their floor or anything so me going out is very rare cos i wouldnt be able to drive back bladdered lol
