There are lots of ripped guys that cannot even squat 2pl8s. The first place to see this is your local gym.

I can almost squat 2xBW and I don't even have visible abs. Squatting and DLing is not the most effective way of achieving '6-pack'.

What sort of **** workout would that be? Where are the tris, chest, delts, etc? Nobody mirin you with that workout mate.
I think there is a way to lose your extra weight. Follow these in order to lose.
