What bothers me more about MCR is that they are rubbish live. The music doesn't really bother me, but you shouldn't have such a poor live act in the headline slot.

You forgot to mention that Motley Crue are self confirmed
how can you have not heard of those bands?! and where is your info coming from? sounds dubious lol

apparently MCR are good playing more intimate venues but, like HIM, i feel the effect of their live show would be lost playing download and we should get a real band to headline!

Looks like the list of confirmed and rumoured acts on the official Download Festival forums.

ZOMFG...Fear Factory!
Korn...umm was hugely disapointed last year.
King of Leon...What kind of music do you listen to?
thats cause Korn didnt have a singer!

I think it says it all, that MCR are some mid-order band at T in the Park, this year.

Agreed. I could have done a better job when they played the Snickers stage in '05.

On another note... still no word from LiveNation customer service...
what do you want customer service for?

As you may have guessed by my user name, mostly Indie.

Download just happens to be the first and closest festival to me when I finish uni, I'm going to be hammered for the whole time, the music is a bit of a side issue :p: Although I like a few of the bands who are lined up and it'll be good to see some of the bigger metal bands just to say I've seen them

I asked them the question:

Will I lose all the money I've invested in a ticket if the place gets locked down on Friday night if violence breaks out?
Reply 72
Hey all, I've been to Reading and Glastonbury festivals a few times and thought I'd give download a go this year. I cant afford the tickets at the moment and was wondering if anyone here knows when they generally sell out?

Cheers!

my chemical romance are playing!

I think download's hit a new low.

They do and will sell out, usually in about May.

Oh dear lord, if Dimmu and COB are playing I HAVE to be there, it's easier to get to than Wacken, which I'd LOVE so much to go to this year. I've always had a little disdain for Download, it's not very metal and it's bloody expensive - I think Wacken would end up being possibly cheaper, or if not that, better value for money cos they have hundreds of fantastic metal bands (NOT including BFMV). Wait...just looked at the Wacken line-up, Wacken pwns Download, I have to go.

Except that BFMV are playing Wacken...

I know they're playing, and I'm saying they're not a fantastic metal band. It's easy enough to avoid them if I go, and there's loads more bands to see, whereas at Download there's lots of bands I'm not bothered about and only very few I'd want to see. Wacken is better value for money in my eyes, but whatever, I won't go on about it anymore.

I was agreeing with you there! :p:

I only read half your post  in fact I stopped just before you mentioned BFMV...
Who makes up band names like hardcore encrusted anal passage?! lol.

Oh, good luck with that Vlad, did you get an answer yet?

When you go on about bands being self confirmed do you just mean the organisers havent announced them yet?

and how do bands that are unsigned get to play download? hope its not like Ozfest where yuo have to pay $100k, though its free this year to get in...!
