I'm in DC for the Inauguration, as is he. We have a mutual friend.
That's pretty cool. What's he like? What was the inauguration like? What were you doing there? Are there too many questions?

I used to work in DC, and I go back to see friends occasionally. I still have contacts who are useful, so I've just got back from the Inauguration Ball (Stevie Wonder  )

He was.... grumpy, tbh. I did it in a bit of a dick way, turned up where he was saying, asked some inane questions, took a photo and left. It was an early start this morning (I left the house at 5am, and I've just got home at 1.30am, having not eaten anything all day and drunk 4 pints of beer. Grim) so I guess it was excused. I kind of was led to believe I would meet him in a more legitimate way than that, but oh well.

Did he think was still in character or something?

On a somewhat related note, I actually (very briefly) dealt with the person in the equivalent of Sam Seaborne's role a couple of years ago. She actually reminded me a lot of him in a quirky sort of way.

But anyone else notice Toby helping to save the world in Man of Steel?
(Whatever his character's name was he's always going to be Toby.)

Jealous. I wish I could go back to the beginning and watch again.

    Anyone watching Newsroom?

Yes, I am. It's a bit more preachy than TWW ever seemed to be.

Or maybe I'm more knowing than I was...

I think they mean "watch it without knowing", as in, watch it for the first time.

As Drewski says, I mean watching it without knowing anything.

I have regularly watched it again from the beginning...

It is more preachy. I'm enjoying it, but it seems like a slightly-more-obvious version of Studio 60, which was brilliant. It's not quite as smart as Studio 60 imo, but it's fairly enjoyable.

I'm enjoying the little nods/reused lines from WW, Studio 60, etc though!
