Is it ok to just ignore people when you don't want to talk to them?

Like say if I cross paths with an acquaintance who I don't particularly want to talk to is it okay to:

a) pretend you can't see them if possible and continue with hat you are doing
b) if they are too close just acknowledge them briefly with a small smile without stopping to say hi
c) don't acknowledge them at all if I don't feel like it unless we are actually friends

I hate feeling like I have to be nice and pleasant to everyone, it's draining. Id rather just be minimally civil unless I actually like said person in which case they will see a much friendlier side to me.
I do b and c all the time

I don't see anything particularly wrong with it, but if they smile/say hi first then obviously it's rude to not reciprocate.

Some people when I do smile at them continue to pretend like they can't see me even if we walk right past each other, and on multiple occasions. Now that is rude.. just makes you think wtf
