The admissions dept and course admn have had a slight reshuffle due to staff illness etc, and replacements have come in. Hence the delay, you should all hear soon!

PS. The course and Kings are both great :-)

i suppose this is only for the business department... do u have any info on the history course by any remarkable chance? they seem to be just as slow...

Sorry, I only know about the management dept lol.

But seriously, just try and be patient! I remember getting my last offer in late March/early April sometime I think, so you still possibly have a good few weeks to wait.

thanks! i'll prepare myself then for the wait! §sigh§

They said the exact same thing last year, and for 2005 entry.

I wouldn't expect replies untill March time.

Make that 3 People.

It's an odd course, has its up and downs.

I haven't heard from KCL with regard to the BM course, but it shouldn't be too long now. Deadline for replies if 31st March afaik.

As for the UCL course, it's specialised, which can be a downfall, but it's backed by a number of reputable companies and the fact its being run by UCL, amongst others, is also a plus.

Hmm, I personally went to Kings College to have a browse around. I was walking by so I thought what the heck. It's an alright uni, but doens't look like anything special. The people that attend there look opretty depressed and lonesome. Not sure if it's just my narrow-minded perception of things or the truth, but I wasn't motivated by the atmosphere in any way. :s-smilie:

Actually I don't know since if it's that specialized considering it's kind of 2 courses in one. I was wondering on how Business related it really is. Well if I don't get an offer from KCL I will most likely choose UCL as firm.

Sorry if I don't make sense, I'm stoned ;p

lol.. Nice one!
Personally I'd choose UCL over KCL. They're both part of the golden triangle and they're both russel league unis, but UCL, imho, is easily more reputable than KCL.

Your choice though :P

I think ever1 who applied is confused but its probably "soft" IT combined with BM, which is probably better than a full on BM course, kinda like a joint course gives u extra options + a good uni reputation behind it. The thing is though, like u said, lack of information or what, especially being a new course.

By the way hav any of u herd dat BM is up 30% in application this year at Kings, DAMN!

yeah.. applications for business courses at every uni are up right now i even read that south banks business course was up 95% which at least helps me not get too worried that queen mary and kings havent replied yet. they've probably got stacks of applications to get through. but i know i'm more than capable so im pretty sure i stand a good chance so im not gonna get too worried just yet

I think you're mistaken in thinking its "Soft IT". Remember it's not a Business Management course to start off with, its an Information Management course that also gives you an insight to how you can apply these techniques to Business, specifically in an IT-related manner. Hopefully its more straight to the point though. I've done all the fundamentals in programming already, from learning about the core logic to the programming concept etc... and it's bloody long (but interesting).
I think it'll focus more on IT and applying it in a business, so it's probably more IT-related than it is Business related.

*Looks at course listing*

Year 1 - 3/8th of it is IT related
Year 2 - 6/8th of it is IT related
Year 3 - between 1 & 3 /8th of it is IT related (quite an oddd one dissertation comprises of 1/4 of the 3rd year)

Year 2 looks to be heavy with IT, but I've 9sadly) covered it all already to quite an indepth level. (I study an all IT course - Software Development/Programming) and computer modules alike.

"Rather than focus purely on technical areas the degree covers the mix of skills and knowledge required to design, develop and deploy technology solutions in tomorrow’s businesses."

Hmm, thats an extract from the course description, and it pretty much means they'll be teaching us about RAD, SAP, EFD diagrams and the other boring theory stuff.. joy.

thats probably because it's becomming a fact that employers are taking a more diverse approach to employment, and focuses more on where the degree was attained, rather than what the degree is in. It probably takes a few months to train a smart graduate with a degree in georgaphy how to manage a business, and more tha na few months to train someone with a degree in busienss from a university at the lower end of the scale because they're less able than the latter. To the point. KCL has a better reputation than a lot of other universities.

It seems to me you're more interested in which institution you're going to rather than where you will be most happiest. Sorry, but that's the impression I get everytime I read your posts.

Well, knowing the university im going to is crap would make me somewhat unhappy... so you are in fact right in saying that I look into the instituion that im going to. The better the reputation of the uni, the happier I am that the £3070 that i paid is going to a good university rather than a rubbish university. Might as well pay the same amount of money to the best university for the best education available depending where you stand.

I'm not some representative for Kings, trying to fob people off or something lol. I'm an undergraduate on this course, so I do have some idea as to what's happened with the management staff.

I'm aware of that, I didn't state or imply that.

Its easily denoted that I stated what the admissions department have said over the few academic-entry years.
