Social Anxiety at university.

I've had social anxiety for years now and I thought it would be okay at university and maybe I could deal with it or even come out of my shell a bit more. I was talking to my soon to be flatmate and she's sending me links to buy tickets for big clubs and fresher's events and it really doesn't look like fun to me.

My idea of a fun night is drinking with 4-10 people and having a laugh and playing silly games but all these links make me feel like I'll be left out of all the events because I don't want to go clubbing or to a massive party.

Are the majority of parties really big with loud music? I was looking forward to going to bars and house parties with friends so you can actually have conversations but from what I've seen all the parties seem to be like clubs.

My mind has just wondered with the idea and now I feel like I'm going to be left out.

Any advice?
When you meet your soon-to-be-flatmate in person, talk to her about this, and hopefully she'll help
