why is mechanical engineering so low-ranked at UCL?

when I visited the open day, the course seemed really good; the facilities were adequate; the course is oversubscribed at 11 places per applicant; and the students there seemed to really enjoy the course. so why is it ranked 26 in the UK for mecheng?
I have no idea. I really love the university and I'm thinking about applying here but the entry requirements are so much higher than other universities which are better than them on the league tables. I will probably apply but it will be a hopeful application
