Saturday morning, go in to your nearest town, make a note of every single shop in the town. Saturday afternoon, sit at a computer and bookmark the recruitment page or equivalent for every single one of their websites you can find. Repeat on Sunday for the next nearest place you could travel to.

The website will advertise all the vacancies the company has, so if it's a national chain, you will have to filter vacancies at stores you can reach. If it's a local shop, they will all be listed. or did I misunderstand what you were asking?

If your local store has no vacancies, there are no store jobs you can get. You will have to look at local newspapers and websites at the jobs listings, work your way in somewhere by volunteering (see do-it.org) etc.

No, not at all.

You said "But what if there are no vacancies at my local store?" I didn't understand the question - if there are no vacancies in the area you can possibly work in (ie local) then you can't get a job. And if you are looking for a part-time job, presumably you can't move, because something else is keeping you in that area.

But it is highly unlikely that no-one has a job vacancy. The issue you are having is looking for jobs effectively, you need to reduce your odds if you are looking for a job that doesn't have very specialist skills or require years of experience etc. And you reduce the odds by hunting for jobs directly through employers, not through organisations like Reed etc. They make it easier to find jobs, but much harder to get jobs.
