I'm intending to apply for Physical Natural Sciences at Churchill. Does anyone know whether I would be interviewed on both Physics and Chemistry or just on Physics as that is the subject that i talk about on my PS.
Yes I am doing Chemistry at A-level. By the way Vaseand did you attend the Physics summer school at Cambridge? I did, and I particularly liked Dr Green's lecturing and attitude towards the subject. Thats one of the reasons why im applying to Churchill.
Does anybody know anything about architecture? More impotantly is it basically a hopeless application because it's not maths or science and i live outside the uk?

I don't know much about the course, but there are a few architects here and there are quite a lot of internationals. So no, it's not hopeless...
Looking for travel advice from someone at cambridge. Ive got the TSA on my interview which finishes at half 2. Do you think it would be possible to make it to the train station in time for a train at 12 past 3 in a taxi? Plus how much generaly is a taxi from churchill to train station?
Yer tis free, as is the boat club (which is something of a rarity). Churchill is pretty good for stuff like that (and basically most other things as well....)
I have an offer for English Lit, starting 2008! Was pooled to Churchill and so haven't really had a chance to have good look around yet! Bit worried about the huge proportion of scientists/ guys! I'm quite a girly girl so quite worried that I am going to be stuck in a massive sciencey manfest! Is there a noticeable lack of girls and arts students? Thanks x

Not really, on either count, maybe it's cause the arts students tend to have more time to get involved with college life or some other broad stereotype but they seem to have a pretty large presence.
Also, you still get girly girls (and effete boys) studying sciences/engineering...

How on earth is that a bad thing? You have the privileged opportunity to be a girl at a college that is mostly guys. You should be suppressing your badly concealed glee.

I'm certainly not complaining!! Can't wait to come!
I am sure there will be plenty of girly scientists, it's just the figures worried me a bit! Thanks for your help! x
I can see how it would, but I think it just means that the groups of girls tend to be just become a bit more close-knit - there are certainly "girly formals" and other such bonding experiences for all the girls in college
I can't really give the female perspective though...
hey. I was pooled to Churchill for SPS starting 2008. Wondering do there be many irish people there, and how much work id done a day in comparison with socialising? hehe
Does any one do English at Churchill? I mean people on here not just in general.. lol I've got an offer for 08 and I'm not sure whether to accept it or not
