Withdrawing from Uni before the term has begun...

Coming to the conclusion that this year I think it would be much more beneficial for myself to have a gap year, as my heart isn't full in it. Therefore, how does on go about withdrawing from University? I assume there will be no complications considering the term has started, nor have student loans been finalised.

Give them a ring and ask to either defer your place or withdraw.

Ask if they need confirmation in writing and if so where you should email.

Ask them to confirm in writing that it's all sorted.

If you don't show up in person SLC don't pay out a penny so there's no need to cancel student loans (but you can if you want to).

Act asap as you are preventing another student from using your possible place.
This looses the uni money

If you want to defer or apply to another uni, telling the uni early will do you good in the future
