Can someone please just finally confirm...

If the people who who have just finished our AS and about to start A2's can resit our A2' one we find out our results in August 2016? This is really confusing me and a lot of others due to the new linear changes. So is it a 'This is it' scenario regarding A2's and we only have one shot or we have to do the whole 2 years again with the new linear A level or can we still resit/ pick new A levels like all the previous years?
