Royal Holloway accommodation deposit???

We have to pay a £300 deposit for the accommodation but the servers weren't working. My friend, also going to Royal Holloway, paid the deposit through their epay system under the accommodation fees section. I was wondering if this was right and if anyone else who is going to Royal Holloway has done the same??

I went onto Royal Holloway Campus Connect to try to pay the £300 deposit but it wouldn't let me follow the link to the contract which is what I was told to do. It just keeps on coming up with an error and I don't want to email them because it's probably something really simple that I have just failed to do. But in response to your question, I think that as long as they get the money and they know what it's for, I'm sure it doesn't really matter how you pay it. Hope you manage to get it all sorted.

My friend used this link https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/epay/ and went to accommodation fees and then under accomm other paid the £300. I'm not sure if this is right but she's going to ring Tuesday to see if it worked.

Hmm, well I'm glad it's not just me having trouble :frown: hopefully they'll sort the problem out soon.

I sent an email to StudentAccommodation asking what I was supposed to do and they replied with "Dear Beth,
We arenot asking you to make a prepayment now as our payment software has failed. Allyou need to do is accept your room offer on line where you made yourapplication. https://halls.royalholloway.ac.uk/Pages/EN/Login/Lander.aspx?wf=Login"
Hi all,

Apologies we are not asking for prepayment now due to technical difficulties, but thank you to everyone who has already paid through the epay system, this will still be processed in due course.

I can confirm that to accept your accommodation offer you need only tick the terms and conditions box and submit your accommodation username and password.

The first payment that students moving into halls of accommodation will need to make for their room is their term 1 accommodation fees which are due 2nd October. You will be able to view and pay your accommodation fees on Campus Connect. Further information on how to pay your fees or accommodation can be found at https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/ecampus/finance/feepayments/home.aspx

I do hope that helps.

I've already phoned the university and they've confirmed that there has been an error and that we'll pay it as part of our 1st installment. I hope this helps/is a reassurance xx
