Feedback on university's please!

I've just been enrolled into my access course. Obviously i'm sure most of you know how they work, i'll be attending uni next year. I'm planning on taking a Sports Journalism degree. So far, i've looked at Brighton, London Arts, Southampton Solent and Sunderland. I live in Bristol so ideally don't really want to attend Sunderland. Does anyone attend these uni's and can someone tell me what they're like? Thank you in advance!
My son goes to Southampton Solent. It's a very central, campus university: about a 3 minute stroll from the high street. There are enough halls of residence to enable students to stay for the whole of their degree if they want to, and some of the halls are reserved for mature students, post-grads and 2nd/3rd years. All of the halls are within walking distance of the uni and town centre. Southampton itself is great for shopping and nightlife.

Thank you for getting back to me. Solent was my first choice however, after researching the university league tables i discovered it was very near the bottom, think the third or fourth from bottom. My only worry is will future employers see that i attended this university and then maybe put me down the pecking order for the job.
I understand your concern, but remember that employers don't spend their time reading league tables, and most have no idea how 'reputable' any given university is, apart from Oxford and Cambridge. It's better to get a first from a low-ranked university than a 2:2 or a third from a high-ranked one. What's more important in a specialised degree course like yours, is to look at industry links, the quality of work placements (if any are offered) and what graduates do afterwards.

Coincidentally, I was talking to someone yesterday whose brother graduated from Solent and has just completed a PhD from an RG university where he is about to take up a position as a lecturer. Rankings aren't everything.

Try and visit them all if you can
