What is the most middle class thing you can think of?

I'll start with earning too much money to get any decent grants for uni but not earning enough money for your parents to help you at all.

Enjoy stacking shelves weekends and holidays at asda to pay for uni.

At the grocery store, picking up the generic brand, thinking for a second, then deciding you can get the name brand.
Believing that roughing it when you are hard up involves buying your food from the Waitrose Essentials range.

Going on only one holiday this year.

Acting like your friends paid too much for things, while acting like you always got the best deal for things. People who are moderately well-off care so much about deals.
Pfft who shops at poundland
Dancing ironically to Hip Hop at music festivals.

Watching Jeremy Kyle and thinking it's fake.

Gap years.

Having alcohol in your house that doesn't get downed in about 0.2 seconds.

Being very liberal but all your friends are white.

Eating fruit from a wooden bowl.

Boys with long hair.

BBC Radio 4 & Dr. Who/Sherlock/David Attenborough programs.

Listening to pan pipe music.

Turning the telly off to play a board game.

Regatta fleeces.

Sending Christmas cards with updates on family members like how Rupert has made the trombone team and Amelia got 7 A's in her report.

Hummus.

Should post a working class thread as well.

Thinking that you are not middle class and just scraping by, when in fact you are just really bad with money.

This is very true of lots of annoying people I knew at uni.
Parents making you get a job not for the extra money but because it will be good 'life experience'.

Yes.
Each year in the lead up to Christmas my Mum has a two week 'panettone tasting period', where she buys all the different panettones from places like Sainburys and Waitrose before deciding which particular one she will stock up on for Christmas.

She doesn't realise that some people in the world would literally beat the crap out of her if they knew she did that.
