Sodium burns with Oxygen to give a pale yellow solid X.?
i) 1.73g of sodium reacts with 1.2g of oxygen. calculate the empirical formula of X. (I got NaO).
ii) The molar mass of X is 78gmol^-1. give the molecular formula of X. (I got Na2O2).
iii) write the equation. (2Na (solid) +O2 (gas)---->Na2O2 (solid)).
help me with 4th
iv)calculate the volume of Oxygen in dm^3 at rtp which reacts with 1.73g of sodium. ( I need to get 0.902 dm3) but i got 0.900 dm3,
PV=nRT

P= 1.00 bar
R= 8.314 J K-1 mol-1
T= 298 K

n(O2) = 0.5*n(Na)
n(Na)= m(Na)/23.0 g mol-1

Substitute to calculate V.

Any help?
It's down to sig. figs. Use 3 sf

mol of Na = 1.73/23 = 0.0752

mol of O2 = 0.0752/2 = 0.0376

0.0376 x 24 = 0.902(4)
