Murdoch rags are for intellectually inferior idiots who do as told. Do you expect Corbyn to read The Sun?

How developped an intellect is can have a lot of factors such as education and social milieu. Doesn't imply stupidity.

I think it's wrong to tarnish the readers of Murdoch newspapers as being un-intellectual, when we should be attacking the entrepeneurs manipulating its readership in the name of money. That's a real and moral issue.
No one under 40 buys newspapers anymore. I mean even the adult section of magazines is having trouble these days. Even Grandpa's are learning how to search the internet for you know what.

Our minds are educated to whatever appeals to us. Right wing types tend to put different keywords into Google than Left-wing types.

The biggest monopoly on information right now are Internet Service Providers who try and offer bonuses to keep you on their homepages.

I'm afraid that left-wing types can be as stupid as right-wing types. You define a person by their values.

The Sun is utter trash. Nipples, infamous celebrities and a lot of Labour bashing.

You should have seen the things they were saying about Ed Miliband during the 2015 General Elections. I'm not surprised that Corbyn chooses not to read it.

The Sun were in Tony Blair's pocket for over a decade. Anyone who says "they just hate Labour" clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.

And it's politics are... left-leaning as the OP said?

Yes but as you say the tabloid readership doesn't care about politics, hell I didn't even twig that the Mirror was left-wing until a few years back

I'll just leave this here.

If anyone ever needs a quote to illustrate their point about why the left got murdered in elections then this should be it.

A great example of how they're completely out of touch with most people and in utter contempt of them actually. A hell of a lot of people got and continued to be turned off by the snobbiness and contempt for normal people by people like you.

It'll be a long ride for you lot when you begin to join the real world

They are owned by Murdoch who likes "free" markets, Blair's Labour were no different from the Tories in that regard and in many cases worse especially when it came to promoting rentiership

Murdoch however does not like demagoguery, just money, so his papers don't support UKIP or the Tory right. Non Murdoch right wing papers i.e. Telegraph Express and sometimes the Mail play to the gallery far more on anti-immigration anti-EU etc. Same as the Guardian Indie and Huff Post do on the left

Murdoch press is declining in popularity over the long term as people move away from the Thatcher Blair technocratic consensus and towards political polarisation.

Someone needs to make them care again!

That's the purpose of the vanguard party under Jeremy Corbyn

It's ironic you are attacking me for a comment that was clearly in jest when the paper i am talking about printed this just before the election:

And that was just 1 of the many attacks on Miliband over the 5 years he was in opposition. But of course it is the left that is extreme and spreading propaganda isn't it?

Milband wasn't even that far left either.

Snobbish labour supporters don't represent the true left wing anymore than the KKK represents christianity or Daesh does Islam.

That's what's so great about the new left, it's graciousness and class- which Corbyn does have. I don't see why people are saying he was mocking the Sun- all he said was that he didn't read it and we all know that's certainly not about snobbery towards its readership.

People need to stop putting words into others mouths and think before they speak in politics and in life generally - and I'm glad Corbyn has started that trend in politics.

Haha! I know - I'm a Corbynmaniac.

This is the problem with the modern left: purport to represent the working man, but at the same time look down on them.

Corbyn doesn't though! This comment has been taken out of context! He never even implicitly criticised its readership, if the man has contempt for anything about the Sun it's about the pro-tory lies they propagate and Murdoch's corrupt and immoral fiscal interests!

I will stand with you in the fields of Nuneaton in May 2020 as dawn breaks over a socialist England, and we will lay there the cornerstone for our new Jerusalem

Anti-Semitic to boot, same with the North London intelligentsia jibes. They pretend they hate the Muslims these right-wingers but really it's projection, they want to hate the Jews. Doubtless they will project also by calling Corbyn an anti-Semite

The Sun is unique in how dreadful it is. The Mail's just the Guardian of the Right - awful, but only left-leaning people notice. The Guardian is the Mail of the Left, vice versa. There are idiots on both sides, and they both read ****e newspapers.

Its not unique at all. All newspapers and media outlets are full of ****, purporting yellow journalism as the truth and trying its hardest to shape its readerships line of thinking to suit its own political motives. The majority of whats in any paper is complete bull****. If anything, the tits in rags like the Sun are about the most realistic thing in them.

People who buy papers are generally the same people who are unable to think for themselves and are the same people who are being dumbed down. This isn't exclusive to those who buy Murdoch's newspapers. Anybody who buys into this left wing/right wing nonsense needs their head sorting out, especially the tribalist readers who are about as out of touch with the real world as one can get.

If you want to read a tory paper at least read the Telegraph or Times, or something else with actual journalistic and moral integrity.

The mere thought of suggesting any paper has actual journalistic and moral integrity is hilarious. However, then you mentioned both the Telegraph and the Times and it got even funnier. No papers have morals. They are manipulative, exploitive and some will even prey on vulnerable people to get what they want.

Yeah, I should have clarified I was only speaking relative to the Mail

Loads of newspapers are biased. Jeremy Corbyn is perfectly entitled to criticise The Sun if he wants to...

The issue I have with The Guardian is that its readers seem to think of themselves as morally and intellectually superior to others.

Have you encountered a Telegraph reader recently?
