Went to uni before - funding for second degree by NHS and student finance?

Hey - I went to uni for the last 3 years (2012-15) doing biomedical science but I didn't graduate and pulled out. Now I'm applying to study nursing as a degree which will be funded by the NHS, which is really great but the amount of money I will be getting will barely (if at all) cover the accommodation fees. So I was wondering if theres any chance of applying to student finance for like a maintenance loan or anything, even for a year that would be a huge help.

I know they usually don't support second degrees but considering that I didn't get a qualification from the last one, and (just to confuse things even more) they minimally support degrees that are already supported by the NHS but they still give a bit. So is there any chance of getting another loan maybe?
