Help me please

In my A2 level Graphic Products I am going to be making a laptop tray that is meant to help university students when they are staying in the student accommodation, because I know that isn't very big, and be able convert into a surface that can be used when travelling on transport like long car and train journeys where there aren't any tables for people to rest their laptop or netbook on. This laptop tray will have many other functions of which I haven't decided yet as I will need further research into what problems students suffer when using their laptops on their lap. For my coursework I need to find a target market and be able to communicate with them throughout the process. If anyone thinks this is a good idea then please leave me some feedback so that I can use this as proof that I have communicated with my target market. Thank you.
