Hi,
I just did all the tests then got an email to say i had to re do them because I did not set the sift test.
So did the sift test got 70% higher than average, then re did numerical then verbal then got a message straight away saying i had failed to get through.
so i suppose if you don't hear anything then you are through to stage two!

Not necessarily - you can fail at any point, so after the numerical, after the verbal and after the work-style test. Even if you pass all three, and are now at the 'tests completed' stage, not everyone will be successful in getting to stage 2, only a certain number of people will.

Does anybody know how long it takes to find out if you passed the first group of tests? I'm applying for the Fast Stream too and with those tests I found out pretty quickly when I was through to the next stage.

Cheers - no need to keep checking up on it then (guess I'd better get on with some work!)

I keep checking out of habit, along with the Fast Stream application page

Has anybody else had a response to their stage 1 tests? A couple of people at my uni said they have been told they haven't got through, I've not heard anything in over two weeks so fingers crossed that no news is good news.

Glad it's not just me then! Wish they'd hurry up and let me know about the Generalist e-tray result...
Just launched my numerical test and it keeps saying the test delivery servers are busy. Is this normal? Yikes! Maybe we're all minute crammers ha!

Hello in here too! I've been invited to a FSAC for the Finance Stream, but really want the HMRC job, as I can't really leave my home city, Liverpool, and that's one of HMRC's potential locations for the TSP.

They must have failed either one of the three tests for stage 1. Everyone else has to wait until applications have closed and they will take a certain amount of people who have passed, based upon stage 1 scores.

This is annoying - just had an email saying that my sift test hadn't been logged properly and I have to take all 4 tests again... the silver lining is that I've got 92% in the latest sift (despite being pretty sure I put in virtually the same answers), the extra annoyance is that now the system is busy and it's not letting me get on with the numerical test again. Grrr.

A few figures from last year, from their Facebook page:

Based on last year's application numbers of approx 13,000, in the region of 4000 candidates completed Stage 1 in full, with approx 2200 candidates being invited to Stage 2. We held 52 HMRC Assessment Centres last year, with each centre hosting 12 candidates, and therefore 624 candidates attended our centres. There were 250 vacancies for TSP 2015.

Thanks, that's interesting. If this year's follows the same format, it looks like the majority are cut (or drop out?) during the first 4 tests; so I guess if you manage to sit the 4 tests then no news really is good news at the moment. Still wish they'd hurry up a bit...

Just completed all my tests. Don't like the numerical one as didn't have enough time but must have scored the minimum to go to the next test. The verbal one wasn't too bad nor was the working style one which just need honesty and consistency. Stage 2 starts 2 December so I guess results should be with us by the end of the month. Good luck everyone =)

I didn't complete numerical last year and still scored enough for the assessment centre and stage 2 so don't worry if you don't get finished because it obviously doesn't matter. Be quick, concise and accurate and you'll be ok.
So I completed all of my tests yesterday, but I wasn't asked to do SJT. My first test was numerical. Does that mean something has gone wrong with my application? Anyone else have this problem?

You don't have to do the SJT if you're already a civil servant at EO grade or above. Does this apply to you?

If not I'd contact them- better safe than sorry. I originally never done a SJT because it carried my banked score from a previous SJT but I got an email saying they don't accept banked scores, so they reset it so I could take the SJT!

Hope this helps

Hey, I didn't get through the sift test...I was just wondering if I could get any advice from the people who did for future reference.

How much did you practice?
Oh I see!

Yes, I'm already a Civil Servant..

Thanks!Thanks!

Do you just mean the situational judgement test or all of the online tests?
