Best first cars for insurance??

I've been looking for a first car, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any cars that would have cheap insurance for a 17/18 year old? Doesn't matter how rubbish they are!

There's no such thing as cheap insurance for a 17/18 year old, regardless of what car it is.

If however you mean the cheapest insurance possible, have a look at what insurance group it's in. Anything above group 3 or so is probably going to be too expensive. Also, avoid at all costs anything that's a Cat C or D write-off - there's no chance whatsoever that anyone is going to want to insure them.

I personally would recommend looking at the Ford Ka 1.2l, the Hyundai i10 and the Corsa 1.2l. I've driven all three of them and they are quite good cars for their price. All have been out for a few years, so there are some older second-hand ones available cheaply on places like Autotrader.
