Help please. I got a first... Now what?

I got a first in computer science in my first year, at Nottingham Trent University. Starting my second year this October. I am trying to find a placement but there are none available. I want one before I start university as it will be a lot easier.
Any advice? or recommendations?

Also, what was the average pay of your placement, what grade did you get and what subject?

There won't be any placements yet. Companies have only just hired their grads for the year and are wrestling with them. Placements usually start to appear sometime around the middle of your first semester. Don't fret. There are plenty to go around. Just stay on the ball.

Depends what you mean by placement a lot of companies have recently opened their summer internship applications for next year e.g. rbs. If its a longer term placement speak to your careers service for help finding one.
