Retaking exams

Hello TSR

I am retaking a-levels and I was wondering if there was anyone on TSR who could help me find a suitable college at which to enter in for practical exams. I've tried contacting my original college and all the ones listed on the AQA website but none of them will do it.

My theoretical grades were A*-B but I got a C overall because my practical grades were pants.

If anyone could help it would be fantastic!

Thanks in advance

3A tutors in Bristol do pretty much everything but they're not cheap.

There's also this place in Coventry http://www.tutorsandexams.uk/exam-centre/science-practicals

Thanks Compost

I've already found a relatively cheap centre (Cherry Hill Tuition) but your answer is appreciated. I will contact them.

Just out of curiousity, do you know this because you've done retakes in the past? If you did how did they go?

Thanks

No, but I'm an exams officer so i see lots of people retaking - we have 5-10 of our ex-Y13s returning every year to try to improve their grades. Some of them bomb and some of them improve dramatically - last year one of them went from BCC to AAA despite having travelled until April and then just revised by himself and one who had a change of direction and came and took Further Maths for the first time got an A*.

I'm glad to hear about that as BCC are my original grades haha, you have given me much hope. Thank you, Compost, you have been very helpful, how do I give reputation on here though?
Do you know how much Cherry Hill charges per exam

It's just an admin thing but it is important - the centre submits a code to the exam board asking for the exam board to add up our units and calculate your grade and, later on, issue the certificate.. If you don't cash-in then you don't formally get the qualification.
