You are likely to be asked about your strengths and weaknesses. Know your weaknesses and address how you are going to overcome them. They quite often ask about what you know about the role and expects you to reflect on past experiences and knowledge to show how you will use transferable skills in the operating department.

I was previously on the ODP course at Canterbury Christ Church for a year and at my interview back in 2012 I had a person from the university and a person from the placement hospitals.

Hope this helps! If you want to know anything else just ask
I have applied to Northumbria for 2016 intake. Sent my application early December and had acknowledgement email from Northumbria confirming receipt of application. When I attended the open day there I'm sure the lead lecturer on the ODP course said they had interviewed 138 applicants for 25 places for the 2015 intake...I have to confess this knocks the confidence a fair bit! Hoping to hear whether I have been offered an interview during the course of this month, really hope I'm fortunate enough to be invited for interview! Anyone else applying to Northumbria? Anyone else got interviews for this uni?
Hi all - I have a quick question. As an ODP, do you see the patient through all three stages? Or is there an ODP for the anesthetic stage, and another different one during the op?

You specialise in usually 2 out of the 3 roles so you might be anaesthetic/ scrub or anaesthetic/ recovery etc, some odps that keep their skills up do all 3 areas not at the same time though, so they may scrub for one case, then do recovery for the next and then do anaesthetic on a few cases after, all depends on what skills you keep up to date with, I spoke with a lovely ODP who does all three areas, she said it's the best way to ensure a varied week lol

Hi guys, I've got an interview at Cardiff in about 2 weeks and I emailed the admission team asking what to expect during the interview process. Her reply was "There will be a panel of 2-3 interviewees. You may be asked questions about why you want to do the course, what interests you about the course etc.".
I hope this helps

I also have these doubts!
I sent my application off in October and I have been worrying ever since!
However, there is a 2015 thread and I messaged someone that got an offer for the 2015 intake and she said that she did not receive even an invitation until late February for an interview in early March. So I wouldn't be stressing that you haven't heard anything yet

Just got to try and remain positive and hopeful, there is still time to be invited for interview! Hope we both get in Bevin! Fingers crossed for both of us! Keep me posted if you get any news!

Hi, I've only just submitted my application to study ODP at New Bedfordshire Uni in 2016 intake.
I see so many people who applied earlier have already had interviews.
Does anyone know if the university will have started filling the places? I had assumed they wait until after the UCAS deadline but now worried that the course will be full before they've even seen my application!
Thanks

Can't comment on that exact uni but I know some unis don't give offers out until they have interviewed everyone to ensure eberybody gets equal consideration

Don't be nervous! I'm sure you'll do great. When is your interview? Have you received the interview guidance email?

Yes, it's actually really informativeand has settled my nerves a bit, my interview is on the 28th of this month  I'm really confused over the last English practice question in the interview guidance though (the ones based on football)- is the last one ("is it all a waste of time and money?") actually asking for your own views or is it about the NHS core values??:confused:

Those aren't the actual questions that you'll have at the interview, just an example but you will have to give your opinion on something bringing into it the nhs core values. For e.g. Is football a waste of time and money...i don't think that it's a waste as it encourages teamwork and communication etc etc
Hope that helps!
