Direct Your Career is a series of presentations and workshops to help you develop your employability. Available at all stages of your course, you can attend as many sessions as you like, to help direct your career planning and navigate your way toward the right opportunities for you.

What’s on in WEEK ONE

Application Forms – Tuesday 29 September, 2.00pm
A presentation to explain the key parts of an application form, how to demonstrate your skills and abilities effectively and how to ensure your application makes it to the next stage of the recruitment process.

CVs and Covering Letters – Wednesday 30,September, 1.00pm
Find out how to structure and present your skills and achievements to create a powerful CV and covering letter that will impress employers.

Are you worried about taking online employer ability tests? A high proportion of graduate recruiters use online “psychometric” ability or aptitude tests as an important part of the selection process. The Careers and Employability Centre has invested in high quality licensed online packages to give Loughborough students and graduates FREE access to practice tests of the kind used by graduate recruiters. These practice tests will give you detailed feedback on your likely performance in employer tests and advice on how you can improve.
