That doesn't really make any difference bud, players get points on the back of performances for their international sides regardless of where they bat.

Here are how you score points...
Runs (Per run scored): 1 Point
(Duck - Exc. Bowlers): -20 points
Strike Rate Bonus (on an innings of 20 or more)
Strike Rate of 80.00+: 20 Points
Strike Rate of 70-79.99: 12 Points
    Wickets (Per wicket): 20 Points
Economy Rate Bonus (when 5 or more overs are bowled)
    3.5 or less r.p.o: 20 Points
    3.51-4.5 r.p.o.: 12 Points
    Catch: 12 Points
Runout (All players involved): 15 Points
    Stumping (W'keeper only): 15 Points

Your selected Captain earns DOUBLE points.

And here are the transfer dates too. You can make unlimited transfers before the first game but otherwise you have to wait until the windows.
    1. 26th-27th March - (prior to Super Eight Series) - you may make 4 trades, with a maximum of 3 players from any country.
    2. 5th-7th April - (during Super Eight Series) - you may make 4 trades, with a maximum of 4 players from any country.
    3. 22nd-24th April - (prior to Semi Finals) - you may make 6 trades, with a maximum of 6 players from any country.

    Oh and welcome aboard

I've joined This should be fun. Man these things can get addictive. Is there any way we can see other people's teams?

    Mines:

    Vincent
    Sehwag
    Tendulkar
    Pietersen
    Hayden
    gayle
    gilchrist
    vaas
    ntini
    gul
    mahmood

I picked people who I think are going to clear the short boundaries, and as such pick up aloot of points.

I think you'll be able to see other people's teams once the points actually start to come in. For the record mine is - Ponting, Yousuf, Tendulkar, Pietersen, Hussey, Collingwood, Sangakarra, Vettori, Murali, Ntini, Kumble.

Obviously you can tell I think the spinners will be the most effective

I thought the all-rounder ranking was a bit odd. Players like Michael Clarke, Ganguly and Gayle were put down as all rounders when they are only part time bowlers. Perhaps having two all rounders would have made it better. I went for Colly in the end ahead of Fred, just a feeling I have.

Choosing the keepers was quite hard too. Sangakarra ahead of Gilchrist and Dhoni

    6. COLLINGWOOD, Paul (C)
    7. GILCHRIST, Adam

    Gayle
    Sangakkara (C)
    Ntini
    Vettori
    Bond
    Kumble

I agree there should be talent points, look how similar all our teams are, and who the hell will choose crappy players from Ireland etc? But should be fun anyways, I too have backed the spinners with two full-timers and my all-rounder being spinners.

Don't ask why I chose Tharanga over say Jayawardene... gut feeling?

    1. Fleming
    2. Hussey
    3. Tendulkar
    4. Smith CAPTAIN
    5. Gibbs
    6. Flintoff
    7. Gilchrist
    8. Muralitharan
    9. Singh
    10. Vettori
    11. Panesar

i think i chose too many big names, and wheathe panasar plays will be big. Although i wanted ntini but can only have 2 players from each country. All rounder was hard to choose but ended up with freddy beacause other countries players were already took up.

    1. THARANGA, Upul
    2. VINCENT, LOU
    3. GIBBS, Hershelle
    4. TENDULKAR, Sachin
    5. LARA, Brian
    6. FLINTOFF, Andrew (captain)
    7. GILCHRIST, Adam
    8. VETTORI, Daniel
    9. MURALITHARAN, Muttiah
    10. NEL, Andre
    11. PATEL, Munaf

A mixed bowling line-up considering the fact that Sachin may be used for a few overs, plus I didn't want to risk the whole team by fronting four spinners.

lol, I can't believe how many people have chosen collingwood!! Strike rate of < 50? no thanks

Tharanga is a good choice I think. I went with vincent instead because recently he's been opening with no fear and slogging well.

The argument about spinners is a fair one. But In the end I just thought that this world cup would favour huge slogs out of the ground, due to the flat tracks.small grounds etc, and so I decided against it in the end.

Oh yeah, i think having gayle as an all rounder is an absolute steal! He's principally a batsman surely?

For most teams he'd be a batsman, WI (especially on a flat track) tend to use him for 10 overs. In fact, he is often one of their best, if not THE best. Add in his batting ability and strike tendancies, and I reckon he'll do better than all these english all-rounders people are choosing.

If he was a little faster I'd choose Kallis...

WI vs Pakistan today, I'm gonna be bottom of the rankings after this because I only have one player able to gain points today! Come of Gayle my son, get a quick century and a few wickets at a good economy rate.
