Sorry to hear that, can I ask was it for the direct tc and when did you apply?

It was for a direct TC application. I applied on the 5th of December
Are Links sending out PFO's or are people assuming it based on length of time?

I would also like to know the answer to this! As its been almost 3 months and all I've received is an acknowledgement email of my app
Am I crazy to apply direct for TC with no VS scheme experience? I work full time and just can't get leave to do one..

Not necessarily - although you might want to be that explicit in any "is there any further information you want to provide" sections.

If you haven't got any legal work experience, then try a couple of open days instead - you should be able to get a day or two off work to attend. They will show your want to pursue a career in law, so are a good way to balance out any complete lack of legal work experience.

Thanks for the advice! I might do as you said and explain I just couldn't attend a VS. I've gone to some insight evenings but I will have to go to open days as you said. Thing is,
I'm just gonna explain that working in compliance has allowed me to still learn about laws in the area and regulations. And I'm also gonna try and explain why I want to do law as opposed to compliance...

I haven't heard back yet either. I received the email that I had passed on Friday though so I'm assuming it will take them a while to get through all the applications from those who have passed the tests.

Same, although I received confirmation on Sunday (oddly).

Thanks for the response!

Has anyone made a VS application to Eversheds? If so, how many words would you suggest is sensible to write for the questions, as there doesn't seem to be a limit?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing! Which office are you applying for? How are you finding the questions so far?

I'm pretty sure the word limit was 250 per question

I'm still at the research stage, however that should be finished today. (Finding it tricky balancing work and VS apps at the same time).

I'll be applying to the London office.

The first question about why commercial law etc isn't difficult, its pretty much a standard question. What makes Eversheds different should come up after my research is complete. (probably speak about its sector strategy?)

I think the key to the second question is linking the current economic climate to the firms main practice areas?

If anyone can provide any guidance on a sensible word count (possibly someone who has already submitted or knows someone who has, I would be grateful :-) )

I agree, working all day and trying to complete them after is killing me! But fingers crossed it will be worth it.

And yeah, I think their strategy is the best way to tackle it as I noticed that they have some specialist areas where they outperform other law firms. And I think your right to mention the economic climate and the current emphasis big companies have on global expansion.
