Do what you like. I don't date fat girls for the same reason. Not for me.
Shallow or not, I think you're stupid. I mean what if you meet a guy and he happens to be wearing shoes with chunky soles, you fall for the guy, after a few dates you get him home, he takes his shoes off and you whack out a tape measure and find he's only 5'11"?

Nothing wrong with having a preference for tall guys, but it seems ridiculous to put such a precise number on it, and to completely discount people who are in ever other way awesome just because they're an inch or two shorter.
