Applying for two Nursing branches at the same university - good idea?

So, I really really like the University of Southampton. I've already got them as one of my choices for BSc Dual Adult and Child Nursing but I know how incredibly competitive that course is and I'd really like to maximise my chances of getting an offer from them in general.

So my question is, if I apply for the dual course for one choice and then just Child Nursing as another choice, will the admissions team know that and so it be detrimental to my chances of getting an offer for dual branch?

Why do you want to do dual branch? I'm sure I read somewhere there is only something like 6 places for dual qual courses - are you applying for Child at other universities? If so, maybe just apply for child? Your personal statement will need to be tailored to one branch if you're applying to more than just that course.
