How to become competitive in my studies?

Over the past few years, I have come to a realisation that the only way I do well in the things I do, is by being competitive. I never really like doing things for myself and more about beating others (obviously not physical). This is what thrives me to become better at what I do. You may call me selfish, arrogant, etc... but this is just how I work.
My one questions is, how do I become competitive in school, or mainly in my studies in general? I am very competitive in sports or even gaming, hence why I am very good at them. But for my studies, I never seem to have that drive to be competitive.

I'm the same tbh, just get to know people who are at a similar level to you academically, and just set yourself a target to beat them by as much as possible in each assessment or test

Basically keep a track record of every piece of homework or test that gets graded and always try to get the grade above it. When you are at the highest grade, keep in the competition and try to maintain it.
