Gap year advice

I'm going to have to spend my gap year in Germany, but I don't speak any German. I will start to learn it after my A levels are done and I know it'll be a great opportunity to learn the language because I'll be able to fully immerse myself, but I don't know if that will be enough to make my personal statement look good next year. Before I knew I'd have to stay in Frankfurt, I was looking into internships for gap year students, particularly in finance. Does anyone know if I'll still be able to do something similar? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to make the most out of the opportunity? Thanks in advance
