Resonance and Interferometers :/

I've posted a couple of questions here (I've already finished studying for AS) and it would be great if someone could answer them for me or at least help me out.
Of course, I'd be willing to do the same (ask away guys and I'll TRY to answer? )
-What is resonance? (definition, a simple one?)
-what are interferometers and how do they work?

I realize that i can just type these questions into google but i don't want its history and geography, i just want a short, simple explanation.
