Applying for a placement

Hello!

I'm currently in my second year of CS and I'm looking for a placement for next year. I'm a bit anxious about it. Firstly, because I really want to get a good placement (preferably London) and secondly, because I don't feel prepared enough for this. I'd like to follow a software engineer career and I can code, but don't think I'm good enough to code in a team with engineers with years of experience (for now). I got a first in my first year, which is good, but I'm afraid my lack of experience will be the reason I'll get rejected.

Also, I have a few questions to ask: What should I expect? A lot harder than uni work? What will be my daily tasks? Is it worth doing it? Do I have a chance of getting a placement at a big corporation, say Google?

I'd also like to mention that I only studied C# in my first year, and this year I'm supposed to do C++, some JavaScript, a bit of PHP.

Sorry for this messy thread. I know it's confusing, but I'm confused as well.
