How could ostracism affect children later in life?

Therapy has made me realise that I had been severely ostracised by my peers in primary school for 6 years (to the point where there had been an unspoken agreement to ignore/shun me and run away) and it may be some form of trauma.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how this can affect development and how this might have affected me (and see if they add up to the conditions I am suffering from now)?
Thankss
They made you feel unwelcome.
You get it programmed into your head that others will also make you feel unwelcome.
Therefore you don't develop socially because of your fear.
But it's never too late to be confident
You should thank therapy for making you realise it.
