RE or History a level?

I am interested in studying Medicine,I want to take Chemistry,biology,maths or physics and history or re.I have heard that not having an essay writing a level is a disadvantage.I have A in GCSE re and I am doing history this year.I enjoyed re very much, I thought I would enjoy history much more than I am.It used to be my favourite subject,but I find re more fascinating as well as easier to argue my point.
