I'm actually still quite torn, but it depends on the course I end up doing, I think Bristol would be my first choice. What about you?

I sent off my application nearly 2 weeks ago and not heard back yet :frown: applied to Swansea, st georges, plymouth, uwe, southampton. Im hoping it wont be too competitive although went to swansea open day yesterday and was told about 30-40 applicants for 3-4 places each year :s-smilie: although nhs funds tuition fees so hoping the unis in england are less competitive because its not nhs funded. Whats everyone hoping to do after graduation? Im looking at loccuming for a couple of years to save up and visit different places before settling and being tied down. Then studying further to get higher up those bands! Taking graduate entry into medicine would be good but dont think i could stand an extra 4 or 5 years studying and then more years specialising.
Hello first of all congrats on sending your ucas application, I haven't due to sixth form. I applied to swansea (first choice), Southampton (second choice), leeds, Wolverhampton and finally Middlesex. I hope I get Swansea and Southampton offers due to them being accredited and perfect for me.

definitely something to do in a hospital

(only asking because I noticed that courses like physiological sciences tend to lean towards research based careers? i.e lab stuff)

Oooooooh yeah that sounds good although personally graduate entry into medicine sounds dauntingly long.

I'm sure you'll get an offer - it's only been two weeks

Yeah, I was torn between maybe doing a postgrad, research or working in a hospital, but I dont think a postgrad would really be an option because I probably couldn't deal with another 3ish years of studying
Have any of you guys been invited to the selection day in December?

I do biology, chemistry and psychology now and have applied for physiology and biomedical science. What about you?
Hey Guys I am a final year at Southampton. So am happy to answer any questions about the course/career.

I also cannot recommend Southampton enough. Not only do they train you (very well) in the essential aspects of becoming a cardiac physiologist but also throw in lots of extras to make you more employable. So for example we spent yesterday in Cardiac theatres and last week had a lectures/practical session from a Clinical perfusionist. Last year everyone that graduated had multiple job offers!

Hi Jonny would you say that Southampton is better than Swansea?
Does Southampton have like its own labs and practice suites.

I'm doing sport and exercise science and biology, when is your interview at UWE? Good luck with your interviews, your choices sound really interesting!
