Best way to self study English Lit?

(annoying, the website deleted my post when I tried to add a link, so starting again. Short version).

I want to study English Lit A level, but I do not want to spend hundreds on online courses. Interested in learning, not so much in getting the qualification (I am not as young as I once was).

Any suggestions on the best way to do this? If I bought this:

A/AS Level English Literature A for AQA Student Book (A Level (AS) English Literature AQA)

And worked through it, would I be able to cover most of the course by myself?
